Woodlands Poker Club

So one of the regulars Adam invited me to his poker room on Sawdust. He told me they had a a tourney on Mondays and I figured I would check it out since it was so close and it was only a $35 tourney. I show up at 7:15 and there are 2 people there… wow. The game runner was eating and said that some people had called and we should have 10-20 players soon.
So I stay and by 8pm we decide to start 8 handed and blind 2 stacks off. the dealer seamed like he knew how to play poker but his dealer skills were lacking. we started with $4500 and the blinds were 100/200 with 12min rounds. 1st is $240 and 2nd is $80
I limp in from early position with 33 and the flop comes Q43 with 5 players. I bet out $500 and i am raised to $1000 i plan to check raise all in on the turn which is an Ace but he checks behind..boo..so i value bet $1000 on the river and he calls with AQ. man i should have reraised that flop. I start as a big stack and begin to pick up small pots in position. I knock out a player with AJ when he moves in with JT. we get 3 handed and i am a slight chip leader but the blinds are huge and there isn’t much play left its coin flipping time. The other 2 players get involved in a big pot with A3 and K9 and the A high wins and we are heads up. I am a 3-1 dog after that pot and I am soon forced to push for a min raise with Qs2s and I am against j6. A 2 and a 6 hit the flop and I am out to collect my $80 2nd place $. I tip $10 and head out because the cash game is non existent.
At this point and i am mad that the blinds beat me after i was playing so well. It wasn’t a bad room if they get more players that are just as bad but are on time.
